UPDATES
Heartbroken
Yes, they’re going with D&D. No, they’re not abandoning Daggerheart. In fact, Mercer is now free to DM several DH campaigns and show off the system’s versatility, rather than anchor it to one multi-year slog.
Measure Once, Cut Twice (IYKYK)
Demiplane added a ruler/range scale to their DH Roll20 integration. Know immediately if you’re close enough to slap someone for suggesting Mulligan isn’t a good substitute for Mercer.
Private Screening
Ember Screen—a browser-based, modular GM screen—added a few pounds of features, among them a countdown widget, Fear tracker, and a half-dozen critical reference modules. The developer is currently taking applicants for beta testing.
Dice at the Discord
The Discord is seeing a bit of LFG activity. Here’s a long Game of Thrones-y world kickoff and a short Sablewood arc for example. If you’re looking to play or GM, might want to watch that channel.
Craft Services
Parchment Foundry is a promising new tool for Daggerheart GMs who want budget standees and printable maps.
DISCUSSIONS
Tier 4 Trouble
Is monster damage scaling in Daggerheart smooth? Pretty much, until you hit Tier 4. That’s what Rob Donoghue found after mapping out average and max values from the Improvised Adversaries table: tiers 1–3 follow a steady pattern, but Tier 4 goes grande with significantly higher bonus damage, pushing more hits into major or severe wound territory. He keeps armor constant for clarity, though in real play that would likely scale too—as would magical items or other offsets. Worth a look if your GMing or designing.
